Water Street Condos

INTERIOR RENOVATION
SOUTH STREET SEAPORT

This landmark condominium in historic South Street Seaport was originally built as a storage house in the 1800s. We renovated the duplex apartment to create an open kitchen and living room at the entry level, creating a private bedroom below. Raw, industrial terracotta columns were cleaned and exposed, to juxtapose with the clean lines of the renovated interior space. A new glass stair was installed along the rear window wall to maximize the light and open the lower level.

This was a terrific, rough and tumble, historic and industrial apartment to work within. The scale and materials of the existing space received the modern details of this renovation perfectly.
